Making the transition from high school to college takes a lot of thought and prayer. Whether you are a parent or a student, everyone feels the monumental change that is coming. The transformation from child to adult. From living at home to potentially leaving home for the first time.
Your son or daughter will always be your child, but the relationship is changing. Many parents worry that their child will lose touch with their faith and drift from their relationship with God, once they are away from the steady schedule and guidance you and your home church have provided. It need not be a concern if you attend Great Lakes Christian College.
If you are looking for a community of college students where you can grow and test the waters of freedom in a safe environment, then a Christian College may be just the perfect place for you.
You won't drift from your faith in the wake of so many new challenges. Rather, you will grow even more with your new peers in a faith-based community of aspiring young adults who are on a similar path as you, sharing in your love of The Word.
If you are coming from a public high school to college, it will be a new and exciting change for you that you get to talk about your Christian faith in school and share it openly with your classmates.
If you attended parochial schools, you will have many opportunities to continue your Christ-centered education within the subjects you most want to pursue for your career.
It is not to be taken lightly. Where you attend college will have a huge impact on the rest of your life. You will make lifelong friends, choose a career, grow into an adult, possibly meet your spouse, and definitely meet your future head on--no matter what God's plan is for you. Choose wisely.
The transition is much easier and enjoyable if you are surrounded by people with the same integrity and moral foundation that you have--a love for Christ and a Christian faith.
You need not worry when you have faith. You will be reminded and encouraged every day at Great Lakes Christian College that you made the right choice.
